Manual or motorized?
Motorized is faster to close and easier on staff. Manual is reliable during power outages, common during hurricanes. Many buildings use motorized with manual override.
How long to close before a storm?
Manual: 30 to 60 seconds per shutter. Motorized: 15 to 30 seconds. A typical storefront with 4 to 6 openings can be secured in 5 to 10 minutes.
Do shutters block emergency exits?
No. We design installs to comply with egress codes. Interior locking shutters can be opened from inside without keys per fire code.
