Fire-Rating When Required
Counter doors in fire-rated walls must carry the same fire rating as the wall assembly. We supply and label correctly.
Daily Operation Match
High-use retail counters need heavy-duty. Low-use pharmacy counters can use lighter assemblies. Right spec for right use.
Hospital Quiet Operation
Healthcare counter doors need quiet operation for patient comfort. We offer low-noise motorized options.
Before You Call.
What is the difference between a counter door and a regular rolling door?
Counter doors are smaller (typically 3 to 6 feet wide, 3 to 5 feet tall) and built into service counters. Regular rolling doors are larger and used for vehicle or freight openings.
Do I need a fire-rated counter door?
If the wall the counter is in is fire-rated, yes. Typical in hospitals, schools, and multi-tenant retail. Plans or AHJ will specify.
Can counter doors be motorized?
Yes. Push-button or key-switch motorized operation is common for ease of use. Manual chain-hoist is the traditional option for budget installs.
How fast can a counter door be installed?
Standard non-rated counter door install: 3 to 5 hours. Fire-rated install with frame work: 1 full day. Often included as part of larger commercial fit-outs.
Are they secure overnight?
Yes. Counter doors include slide bolts or cylinder locks. We can integrate with central alarm systems for monitored after-hours security.
